EMG

Electromyography is abbreviated as EMG. It is a norological method by that nerves and muscles electrical potentials are examined. It is also known as Electroneuromyography. (ENMG) EMG examination consists of  nerve conduction and examinations of muscles with a needle.

Nerve conduction is performed by stimulating the nerves with low voltage electricity. In needle EMG examination, the muscles are evaluated with the help of a needle inserted into the muscle. In other words, this technique is  done by stimulating the nerves with an electrical stimulus and examining the muscles with a needle.

Repetitive (sequential) nerve stimulation and single fiber EMG (SFEMG) examinations are performed in our laboratory. Although they are different examinations, as they are performed with the same device, generally included under the heading of EMG.
